Interactive Acoustic Workshops — Hidacs
Turnkey acoustic workshop modules for museums, science exhibitions, and events — installs in hours, engages visitors of all ages.
Hidacs designs and manufactures interactive acoustic experiences — standalone modules where visitors manipulate, observe and understand sound through hands-on experimentation. Each module is designed to be installed in a few hours, withstand heavy use, and captivate all ages. Our modules combine scientific rigor with playful engagement.
Request a quoteChladni Figures— «Draw with sound»
An iconic installation that requires no electrical power in its basic version. The visitor runs a bow across a plate dusted with fine sand and watches geometric patterns emerge. High visual and photographic potential. Very robust, minimal maintenance.
Real-Time Spectrogram— «Paint with your voice»
A compact module with high visual impact. A microphone captures the visitor's voice, a Raspberry Pi computes the spectrogram in real time, and the screen displays a scrolling cascade of colors. Setup in 1 hour, no consumables. Naturally attracts visitors from afar.
Fourier Wheel— «Sculpt the sound»
A physical and engaging installation — the visitor acts with their whole body. A wheel with a handle is mounted on a rotary encoder. The motion is analyzed via FFT and displayed as a frequency spectrum. Robust mechanical structure, designed for heavy use.
Filters & Equalization— «Sculpt the spectrum»
A tilted table styled like a mixing console with motorized faders. A source sound loops continuously while the visitor sculpts the spectrum in real time. Strong appeal for teenagers. Familiar interface, instant pick-up.
Binaural Listening— «Head in the sound»
An individual listening station with very high emotional impact. Quality headphones and a simple interface let visitors navigate between 3-5 progressive binaural demos. Almost zero footprint, ideal for filling a space or creating a quiet moment.
Sound Effects— «Crazy studio»
A module designed for ages 3-7 but fun for everyone. A standing microphone, a speaker, zero interface — the child speaks, the effect is applied automatically. Random switching creates surprise. Perfect at the start of a tour to break the ice.
ML Classification— «Duel against AI»
A showcase module for artificial intelligence applied to sound. Four screens display the full pipeline: raw signal, spectrogram, Grad-CAM, classification scores. Duel mode with leaderboard. AI/tech angle highly sought after for contemporary exhibitions.
The Scream— «Scream your lungs out»
The most viral module in the range. Designed for maximum engagement and instant social media potential. Acoustically isolated booth so it doesn't disturb the rest of the exhibition. Daily leaderboard that drives competition.
Voice Print— «Your voice is unique»
A dual-value module — educational and commercial. The algorithm extracts vocal biomarkers and generates a unique QR code. The visitor leaves with a personalized souvenir. Direct revenue source when coupled with a gift shop.
Voice Cloning— «Talk like dad»
The most emotionally powerful module in the range. Works in pairs. The companion records a short vocal sample, then the child speaks and hears themselves transformed. Integrated panel on audio deepfakes and AI ethics.
Acoustic Pollution— «Sound or Noise?»
An ultra-simple collective voting module — a kiosk, two physical buttons, a speaker and a screen. A sound is played, the visitor votes, and the cumulative histogram updates in real time. Zero friction, instant engagement. Sparks spontaneous debates among visitors.
